Mechanical entrapment protection for hinged doors with key

Prevent entrapment of operators in hazardous areas with the ALPHA mechanical entrapment protection for hinged doors. This prevents containment in hazardous areas and unexpected restarts during maintenance, or cleaning. ALPHA operates without cabling and is easily retrofitable to all existing entrance doors. The housing is stainless steel 316 for high ruggedness and corrosion resistance. The mandatory key removal makes Lockout-Tagout procedurally enforceable. A version for sliding doors is also available. Suitable for doors with a maximum door thickness of 80mm. How does it work? With the system running, the door is closed and the safety contacts of the safety switch already present are closed. When the door is opened, the safety switch on the door disables the installation, at the same time the entrapment protection prevents the complete opening of the door until the key is removed. Turning and removing the key has two functions: entrapment protection is activated to allow the door to fully open and the rear blocking plate is rotated, preventing the door from closing as long as the operator is in the restricted area.
