The Ex HS Si 4 is a magnetically coded, non-contact safety sensor for machine guarding in ATEX environments. The sensor is certified for gas EX zones 1 and 2 and dust EX zones 21 and 22, and can be used in the food industry.

The sensor secures hinged doors, sliding doors and removable guards in applications without guard interlocks. Coded Hall sensors provide tamper protection while continuously monitoring the status of the safety chain on both opened and closed doors.

The Ex HS Si 4 is easy to mount, has a thermoplastic housing and, together with the actuator, is fully sealed to IP69 for use in contaminated or wet environments. In combination with a safety controller, application up to Performance Level e (EN ISO 13849-1) and SIL 3 (EN 62061) is possible.
