This execution combines the proven mechanical robustness of the amGard Pro range with the functionality of industrial Ethernet communication. Like all models within the amGard Pro series, the PROFINET variant is designed for long-term use under harsh operating conditions. The switch provides a locking force of 10,000 N and features a stainless-steel head module, maintaining full functionality when exposed to vibration, dust, moisture and contamination. These characteristics make the PROFINET version suitable for applications such as food processing, bulk handling, steel production and automotive manufacturing.
PROFINET provides an exceptional level of fault detection, resulting in a significant reduction in production downtime. Authorised personnel can also access the network remotely, allowing engineers to diagnose system faults without being physically present at the machine.
PROFINET is a globally adopted industrial Ethernet standard for real-time communication between PLCs and field devices, including safety switches. By integrating PROFINET, overall cabling within the installation can be dramatically reduced. The amGard Pro PROFINET switch is equipped with four quick disconnectors—two for data and two for power—enabling a daisy-chain configuration. This lowers wiring costs and simplifies system design, engineering and maintenance. In addition to PROFINET, the switch also supports EtherNet/IP networks.

All amGard Pro safety switches can be equipped with a safety key that must be removed by the operator entering the safeguarded zone. The machine cannot restart until the safety key has been returned to its original position outside the hazardous area. When multiple operators enter the safeguarded zone, the key adaptor can be locked with a padlock. This allows each operator to attach their own padlock to the safety switch for lockout purposes, providing an additional layer of protection during maintenance and cleaning activities.
