The S101A Smart sensor is part of Inxpect’s 100 SERIES radar security system and was previously marketed as the LBK sensor. Developed specifically for detecting people in hazardous areas around machinery, this safety radar sensor provides a reliable security solution in industrial environments. Thanks to its radar technology, the sensor is insensitive to environmental factors such as dust, rain, dirt, vapor, light and vibration.

The S101A allows daisy-chaining of up to six sensors, which can also effectively secure large work areas. It features a warning zone for the detection of approaching objects and provides integrated muting functions, both for the complete system and for each individual sensor. In addition, the built-in blocking prevents a machine from restarting as long as persons are present in the danger zone.

The S101A is configurable with two detection fields, making it easy to adapt the sensor to the application. Setting 1 achieves a field of view of 110° horizontally and 30° vertically, while setting 2 provides a slimmer detection angle of 50° horizontally and 15° vertically. The maximum detection distance is 4 meters, with a minimum detection distance of 1 meter. A combination of six sensors can achieve a secure area of up to 15 x 4 meters.

The 100 SERIES radar system consists of one controller and up to six S101A sensors. The system is certified for use in PLd, Cat. 2 (EN ISO 13849-1) and SIL 2 (EN 62061) applications, meeting machine safety requirements.
