The New HoldX Process Lock with 1200 N Holding Force

SSP introduces the upgraded HoldX process interlocks featuring a high-coded integrated RFID safety switch.

The redesigned HoldX range is available in two variants:

  • RS model with 600 N holding force
  • RL model with 1200 N holding force

Both versions are fully sealed to IP67, equipped with status LEDs, and built with a robust industrial housing.

Using an integrated magnetic flow sensor, the HoldX continuously monitors whether the unit loses its holding force — for example due to contamination, misalignment or power loss. This enables early fault detection, prevents unsafe conditions and reduces unnecessary downtime and maintenance costs.

Magnetic interlocks — also referred to as process interlocks — are used to hold doors or access panels closed to prevent disruption of an active process. It is important to note, however, that this type of interlocking must not be used on machinery with a run-down time. Loss of magnetic holding force (for example during a power failure) can create an unsafe condition. For applications with run-down hazards, always use tongue-operated, mechanically locking safety interlocks.

The HoldX process interlocks are suitable for use in SIL2 (EN/IEC 62061), Category 3 (EN 954-1) and PL d (EN/ISO 13849-1) applications.
